Hello again, Port Jefferson! It's me, Debora Whitehead, your host of the Daily. Here's all the local news you need to know right now. In today's issue, we'll cover these stories and more:

Here are the top four stories today in Port Jefferson:

  1. Port Jefferson Mayor Margot Garant addressed updates on the East Beach bluff project in the Board of Trustees meeting held on Monday, Nov. 7. She said the construction of the lower toe wall has been progressing well. The concrete wall will be attached to the cliffside. Another meeting with the town engineers is expected to happen later this month, and more updates will be reported in the Port Jefferson Patch. (TBR News Media)
  2. Port Jefferson school district students rolled their sleeves up to work for the community. The district’s Environmental Club and other local institutions partnered to clean up our local beaches. The event was hosted by the Village of Port Jefferson and The Coastal Steward “Adopt a Beach Program.” (Port Jefferson Patch)
  3. The Bristal Assisted Living is organizing a homeless pet drive on Thanksgiving. To donate food, toys, blankets, and other pet goodies, visit the Port Jefferson Chamber Of Commerce website to learn the drop-off locations. Donations are being accepted through Nov. 16. (Port Jefferson CofC)
  4. Santa Claus is coming to town! Port Jefferson Santa Parade will be hosted on Nov. 27 on Main Street. Stay tuned for the event details posted in the Port Jefferson Patch. (Port Jefferson Village Center)

  • Stay tuned for the great Charles Dickens Festival hosted on the first weekend of December at Port Jefferson Village! Mark on your calendar Dec. 3-4, so don't miss one of the most popular events in our community. (Port Jefferson Village Center)
  • Port Jefferson School District announced the final tour through the school facilities to decide the bond referendum is scheduled for Nov. 17. It's a one-hour session that will start at 7 p.m. Residents are asked to meet at the main lobby of the middle and high school. (Port Jefferson Patch)
