- The heart and soul of Port Jefferson will be on the table during the Fall Restaurant Week! There will be eight days of great deals, Nov. 6-13, at the following eateries in the village: Fifth Season, Nantuckets, Pasta Pasta and Ruvo’s. (Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce)
- Patch launched a recognition program to honor local athletes making a difference in the community. Our star this week is Reneé Clark of Port Jefferson, who plays tennis and is also a member of the National Honor Society. Regardless of Reneé's medical conditions, she is always on the lookout to help others and spread a positive message to all who know her. (Port Jefferson Patch)
- For those who want to lose extra calories while enjoying nature and making new friends, Port Jefferson Free Library will host a hiking excursion program at Connetquot State Park on Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon. Naturalist and photographer Lee McAllister will guide the group on a 4-mile hike. Participants are asked to meet at the Parking lot at the entrance off Sunrise Highway. (Port Jefferson Free Library)
- Police arrested a man for his alleged connection to a fatal shooting in Coram. Anthony Santiesteban is facing second-degree charges for the murder of Martina Thompson of East Patchogue. The crime occurred in the parking lot of Taino's Café and Lounge off Middle Country Road. (LI News12)
