Port Jefferson Harbor Bomb Threat Halts Ferry Service Sunday: Police
Multiple authorities were called in but no bomb was found, Suffolk police said.
PORT JEFFERSON, NY — The Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry service was suspended Sunday after Port Jefferson Village officials received a bomb threat, Suffolk police said.
Suffolk police responded to Port Jefferson Harbor at around 1:40 p.m. after being contacted by village officials who “received a call regarding a bomb threat pertaining to the harbor,” a police spokeswoman said.
Village first responders, as well as Suffolk police, the United States Coast Guard, the Town of Brookhaven, and the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation responded and no bombs were found, according to police.

Officials from the Bridgeport-Port Jefferson Ferry were notified and suspended operations until the response was complete, police said.
It was not immediately clear how long the service was suspended for.
