
Residents of Port Jefferson will vote today to fill two seats on the library Board of Trustees. Five people are vying for the seats, including incumbent Christian Neubert , Lynn Hallarman, Nancy J. Loddigs, Joseph D. Orofino and Wailin Ng
Voting is taking place in the Library on Jan. 9 from 10:00 AM-9:00 PM. You must be 18years of age, a resident of PJ School District (#6) and have a Library card in good standing.

Christian Neubert (incumbent) has been on the Library board for 6 years beginning his tenure in March 2013. Christian states that he is a product of the Village of Port Jefferson and its school district. He understands the value of the Library as a community asset. He is a 14-year member of the Port Jefferson Fire Department and appreciates the process of collaboration when decision making is involved. Christian currently is a music educator at the Port Jefferson School District. He would like to continue the momentum he has established as Vice President on the Board of Trustees of the Library.
Lynn Hallarman, MD is an Associate Profession of Medicine and the Director of Palliative Care at
Stony Brook Hospital for the past 13 years. She will bring years of experience in strategic program
development and educational innovation to the library board of trustees. Dr. Hallarman and her
family have been Port Jefferson residents since 2006. She believes deeply in the critical role that
libraries have in keeping communities strong, compassionate and connected. She is additionally
working on a Masters in Music at Stony Brook University and believes the library is essential in sustaining the role of the Arts and Humanities in building healthy communities.

Nancy J. Loddigs has been a resident of Port Jefferson for 30 years and has been a School Library Media Specialist at Comsewogue School District and a Librarian at both Port Jefferson and Comsewogue Libraries. She has many years of experience in managing and developing all aspects of a library. She feels she would be an enthusiastic asset to the Librar y Board of Trustees.
Wailin Ng became a resident of Port Jefferson about one year ago but has been a patron of the Library for the past 8 years. She feels being a Trustee is an opportunity to have a say in how the library can best provide services to our local community. As a Trustee, she would be committed to working with the Board to promote the use of the library, make decisions for its future, evaluate the overall effectiveness of the library and help set policies.
Joseph D. Orofino is a lifelong resident of Port Jefferson. He currently volunteers in many community organizations. He wishes to serve on the board because it is important to give back to the community and with his professional experience, volunteer experience and community knowledge, he feels could make a positive contribution to the Library. He brings an experienced financial opinion, leadership and planning skills to help ensure the Library remains cost effective with the goal to further the mission of the Library to be a place of lifelong learning.
