Here are the top four stories in Port Jefferson today:

  1. Bristal Assisted Living is hosting a donation drive for animal welfare this Thanksgiving. All items will be given to homeless pets sheltered at Almost Home Rescue and Pioneers for Animals institutions. The most needed items are canned and dry food, cat litter, dog beds/blankets and toys. If you would like to help, please, access the link I've shared to learn drop-off locations. (Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce)
  2. PJ Lobster House will serve a complimentary dinner for attendees of the "How to Choose the Right Medicare Program for You" seminar. Speaker guests Melissa Wiener and Gracemarie Luce will lead the participants into the ABC's of Medicare, bringing important topics and answering the public's questions. 3. Police are alerting parents in the Stony Brook, Setauket, Three Village and Port Jefferson communities about a sinister Halloween prank that can result in a life-threatening situation. A teenage girl from Setauket found a razor blade inside a chocolate bar she collected while trick-or-treating. Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact authorities. 4. A pedestrian was transported to Stony Brook Hospital in serious condition after being struck while crossing Route 25A. The driver was an 18-year-old from Miller Place who wasn't injured during the crash. Police took the vehicle for a safety check. (Port Jefferson Patch)
