Here are the top four stories today in Port Jefferson:
- Final Date for PJSD School Tours is set for Thursday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and see the facilities intended to be upgraded if the budget is approved. Two proposals will be on the vote. The first one is the amount of $23,127,000, which targets the improvements of bathrooms and air quality. The second is valued at $1,876,000 for installing a Turf field at the Port Jefferson High School. The community will vote on Dec. 12 for the Bond Referendum. - Port Jefferson Theatre Tree features the production "A Christmas Carol" By Charles Dickens this weekend. The Broadway classic tells the story of miser Ebenezer Scrooge on his adventures, showing him the meaning of Christmas. Please note that the theater released a note on its website announcing that the handicap lift is temporarily out of service. If you need help, please call the Theatre ahead of time to check the status of the repair. (Theatre Three)
- New York is under storm preparations this weekend as Nicole started its downpouring Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Dumptrucks, wood chippers and vacuum trucks are expected to clean up street debris. PSEG LI is on the lookout for possible outages. (News12)
