2. Port Jefferson School District celebrates Royal's win in the Suffolk C Girls Volleyball over the Mattituck on Monday at Hauppauge High School. That's the first team title since 2004. The final score was 2-0. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
3. Police sought a shoplifter who stole merchandise from the Halloween Spirits store on Nesconset Highway. The woman took several costumes without paying for them and fled the scene in a Jeep Renegade with New York plates on Oct. 28 at 9:30 p.m. Officials believe she stole from other stores of the same chain on Long Island. They requested the public's help to identify the suspect. (Daily Voice)
4. Village of Port Jefferson released the Loose Leaf Pick-Up Schedule. According to a note on the village's website, it no longer provides leaf bags. All residents who want their bags to be collected must place them in biodegradable bags. Check the schedule here. (Port Jefferson Patch)
5. Veteran Day is Friday and significant events are happening this week to support and honor the ones who served. Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone shared the news of Operation Green Light, a drive to support veterans' families with resources and donations. The event will be hosted at 100 Veterans Memorial Highway in Hauppauge on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 3 to 6 p.m. (The Suffolk County News)
