
Residents in the Port Jefferson School District easily approved a proposed school budget for 2019-20 on Tuesday.
The $43.9 million budget, a 0.11 percent spending increase over the current year, was approved by a margin of 559-160.
Ellen Boehm (521 votes) and Randi DeWitt (473 votes) were elected to 3-year terms on the school board. Ryan Biedenkapp (463 votes) will serve a 1-year term in filling the remaining term of Adam Dewitt, who resigned last year.
