Here are the top four stories in Port Jefferson today:
- Port Jefferson High School Varsity Club set flags in honor of veterans in the District's Armed Forces Tribute on the grounds of the Earl L. Vandermeulen High School on Nov. 9. (Press Release Desk)
- The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame will host its grand opening on Nov. 25. A significant number of rare artifacts and objectives that once belonged to singers like Billy Joel, Debbie Gibson and more will be displayed. The venue is located at Stony Brook Main Street. (Patch)
- Port Jefferson Station Community Tree Lighting is set for Saturday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a hot chocolate and a performance by the BackStage Dance Studio. This event is hosted by the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce and will be held at the Train Car Park. The event organizers will significantly appreciate donations of a nonperishable food item or an unwrapped toy. (PJTVCOC)
- The Town of Brookhaven Holiday Light Spectacular Holtsville Ecology Site and Animal Preserve kicks off Saturday, Dec. 3, from 5 to 9 p.m. The event features an indoor walk-through holiday festive display with lots of photo opportunities for those who want to enjoy the season's magic! - Bohemia residents are talking about a unique visitor that showed up on Louis Kossuth Avenue and Maddison Street. A bear was caught on camera on Monday night. When the police arrived at the scene, the bear was gone! (LI News12)
