Port Jefferson Students Perform At Long Island String Festival
A dozen Port Jefferson elementary and middle school student musicians performed at the Jan. 22 event.

A dozen Port Jefferson elementary and middle school student-musicians in grades 5-8 were selected to perform in the Intermediate Long Island String Festival on Jan. 22 at Northport High School.

The students are Allie Blumenthal (grade 8), Seyanna Cerar (grade 5), Jenny Cheung (grade 7), Nicholas Hogan (grade 6), Ruairi Hogan (grade 8), Joshua Kwon (grade 8), Gloria Monaghan (grade 5), Iris Park (grade 8), Sebastian Salzman (grade 6), Kaho Sugimoto (grade 6), Alice Turner (grade 5) and Leilani Von Oiste (grade 6).
They were selected along with others from across Suffolk County on a competitive basis with NYSSMA scores as the main criteria along with teacher recommendations.
