Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?
Beth’s 21 years in the Bay Shore School District have been a journey of educational challenges that she has overcome at every turn.
While Beth’s specialty and area of teaching is art, she is an unsung hero for many children with learning disabilities, English as a second language, and other children who thrive in the creative arena of art and photography.
Her class sizes require a professionalism that only experience can handle, and she does this gracefully.
“Mrs. Cap” as some students call her also has an English degree and is called upon for many letters of recommendation by her college-bound students. She is always available for her students whenever they need a compassionate ear or some advice.
Many of Mrs. Cap’s former students come to see her whenever they are back from their post-graduate adventures in the workforce, trade schools, or college.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?
Mrs. Cap is a great listener.
