Here are the top four stories in Port Jefferson today:
- The Steam Room restaurant in Port Jefferson will offer a free Thanksgiving dinner for whoever shows up on Thursday. The meals will start to be served from noon until 5 p.m. The restaurant is at 4 East Broadway in Port Jefferson. (Port Jefferson Patch)
- The Brookhaven board approved a $329.7 million budget for 2023 with a vote of 6-0 on Thursday. With the new plan, property taxes are expected to increase by 1.92% on standard homes. (Newsday/Subscription Required)
- Long Island Music Hall Of Fame will officially be open for visitors on Nov. 25. The venue is at Stony Brook Main Street and features memorabilia that once belonged to artists like Billy Joel, Debbie Gibson, Joan Jett and others. (Patch)
- Another "Santa Claus" appearance will be hosted just 6 miles away from Port Jefferson. Coram Civic Association is hosting its 13th annual Holiday Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 4. The festivities start at 3 p.m. at 303 Middle Country Rd. Refreshments, crafts, songs by the Coram Elementary School singers and other fun entertainment will be offered.
