Suffolk Man Charged In Connection With 9 Break-Ins At Businesses: Cops
Police say he would gain access by breakig an exterior door or window and then make off with cash.
CORAM, NY — A Suffolk man was arrested Sunday in connection with breaking into nine businesses since November, Suffolk police said.
Officers responding to a 911 call reporting a burglary at Subway on Middle Country Road in Selden just before 10 a.m., found the front glass window of the business broken and cash stolen from the register, as well as coins from a donation jar, according to police.
Michael Parise was found about an hour later at 11 a.m. on Middle Country Road in Coram after an investigation by 6th Squad detectives, police said.

Parise was also identified as the man who committed eight similar burglaries, and one attempted burglary since November, and in all instances, he went inside the business by breaking an exterior door or window and swiped cash, according to police.
In addition to the Subway burglary, he was charged with third-degree burglary in the following incidents:

- Subway, on Route 347 in Stony Brook, at around 5 a.m. on Nov. 27
- Ssambap Korean BBW, on Route 347 in Stony Brook, at around 6:26 a.m. on Dec. 16
- Orangetheory Fitness, on Route 347 in Stony Brook, just before 11 p.m. on Dec. 24
- Hype Cut and Color Bar, on Terry Road in Smithtown, at around 9:32 a.m. on Dec. 27
- Tainos Café and Lounge, on Middle Country Road in Coram, just after 4 p.m. on Dec. 27
- Bagel Café of Stony Brook, on Route 347 in Stony Brook, at around 7:28 p.m. on Jan. 5
- Kimochi Bubble Tea, on Country Road in Selden, at around 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 31
- Middle Country Animal Hospital, on Middle Country Road in Selden, at around 8:13 a.m. on Feb. 27
Parise was additionally charged with one count of third-degree attempted burglary for an incident at Peking Chinese Kitchen on Middle Country Road in Selden, during which he damaged a door to the restaurant but failed to gain entry on Sunday. He was also charged with petit larceny for stealing money from a donation box at McDonald’s on Route 347 in Stony Brook on Dec. 26.
Parise, 49, was held overnight at the 6th Precinct in Selden pending his arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.
