State Sen. John Flanagan will win re-election over Democratic challenger Kathleen Cleary in the 2nd Senate District. Flanagan, a Republican from East Northport, was leading Cleary by a margin of 51,866 to 39,911 with 180 out of 221 election districts reporting. The 2nd Senate District includes the entire Town of Smithtown and portions of both the Town of Brookhaven and the Town of Huntington.
