Woman Fatally Shoots Boyfriend On Long Island: Police
BREAKING: The woman shot her boyfriend after a physical confrontation and faces a murder charge, police say.
CORAM, NY — A woman was arrested after Suffolk police said she fatally shot her boyfriend in their Coram home early Friday.
After a physical confrontation, Ashley Guimont, 44, shot and killed her boyfriend, Alex Carter, 47, on
Townehouse Drive around 2:30 a.m., police said. After shooting Carter, Guimont called 911, police said.
Carter was pronounced dead at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, police said.

Guimont was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, police said.
She will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.
