Accused Crown Heights Killer Caught 2 Years Later, Cops Say
Leequan Lucas, 20, was charged last week in the 2020 shooting that killed 22-year-old Armani Hamilton, police said.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — The person who fatally shot a 22-year-old man steps from his home in Crown Heights in 2020 has finally been caught, according to police.
Leequan Lucas, 20, was arrested and charged with murder last week, nearly a full two years after the July 22, 2020 shooting that killed Armani Hamilton, police said.
Hamilton was just a short walk from his apartment in the Kingsborough Houses when police found him with two gunshot wounds to his torso on Pacific Street, police said. He was pronounced dead that day at Kings County Hospital.

The 22-year-old's family told the Daily News at the time that Hamilton had just stepped out to go to the store for them when they heard the shots.
Lucas, who lives on Glenmore Avenue in Brownsville, is charged with murder, tempering with evidence and criminal possession of a weapon for the incident, according to police.
