Man Hit By 2 Cars In Fatal Prospect Heights Hit-And-Run, Cops Say
Both the car that knocked the 61-year-old man down and a second that hit him as he lay in the road kept driving, police said.
PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A man crossing the street was killed Sunday in Prospect Heights after two cars mowed him down and didn't stop, according to police.
The hit-and-run unfolded around 2:15 a.m. when the 61-year-old man tried to cross Washington Avenue near Dean Street and a was hit by a car driving down the street, according to police.
The car didn't stop, police said.

A second vehicle then hit the man as he lay in the roadway, police said. That car also kept driving, according to police.
The 61-year-old man was rushed to the hospital with severe head trauma, but could not be saved, police said.

The NYPD's Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the crash.
