3 Killed In Multi-Car Crash In NYC, Police Say

QUEENS, NY — Two pedestrians and a driver were killed following a multi-car crash in Queens Tuesday morning, according to police and a report.

The crash happened at 19th Avenue and 42nd Street in Astoria around 8:37 a.m., police said.

Footage from an ABC7 New York helicopter showed debris scattered across the roadway and a white sedan missing part of its front end. An SUV and a box truck also look to be involved in the crash.

The driver was trying to avoid another car making a U-turn and lost control, crashing into a nearby food truck and the two pedestrians, police said.

A 42-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a 70-year-oldpedestrian were taken to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
