Car Crash In Corona Leaves Rosedale Man Dead: NYPD

A man died in a car accident on Sunday after he changed lanes to avoid a crashed car on the Grand Central Parkway in Corona, police said.

QUEENS — A man from Rosedale died in a car accident on Sunday after he changed lanes to avoid a crashed car on the Grand Central Parkway in Corona, but then he struck a tree, police said.

Raeven Rishi, 20, died after he struck a tree on the Grand Central Parkway at 111 Street on April 9 about 5:20 a.m., the NYPD said.

Rishi was driving a 2022 Hyundai SUV on the left lane with another passenger when he saw an unrelated car crash on the roadway ahead, making him cross lanes, but he lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, cops said.

The 20-year-old was taken to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he died, while the passenger was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition, authorities said.

The investigation remains ongoing and no other vehicles were involved in the crash, police said.
