Driver Killed, Passenger Flees Scene After NYC Parkway Crash

The passenger has not been found, police said.

QUEENS, NY — A 24-year-old driver was killed after he struck a guardrail, losing control of his vehicle, causing it to flip onto its roof early Tuesday morning, police said.

The incident happened on the Cross Island Parkway and Bell Boulevard near Exit 31 around 2:30 a.m., police said.

Bishinu Madray-Mootoo was behind the wheel of a 1999 BMW 323I sedan when it lost control of the car. He reportedly crossed over three lanes, striking a concrete median before overturning onto its roof.

The 24-year-old man was taken to North Shore University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Madray-Mootoo’s passenger in the vehicle did not remain on the scene, police said.
