Flushing Bland Playground To Remain Closed Until 2024 Amid Renovation
The renovations for the playground will include new swings and a reconstruction of the basketball and handball courts.

QUEENS — Bland Playground in Flushing will be closed to the public until January 2024 amid a renovation by the city’s Park Department.
The renovations for the playground, located at Prince Street and 40th Road, will include new swings, a reconstruction of the basketball and handball courts, a new multi-purpose area for activities such as Tai chi, and new benches and game tables.
“Bland Playground is a popular open space in the heart of downtown Flushing, and I know it will be missed by the community and nearby NYCHA residents while it is closed,” said Council Member Sandra Ung, who represents Flushing.
