New Photos Show Gunman Who Shot Rookie Queens Cop, NYPD Says

QUEENS — More photos have been released of the man suspected of shooting a rookie cop in the hip in Queens Wednesday, the NYPD said. Police are offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.
The rookie cop, 22, was shot trying to catch a man who'd caused a ruckus over an MTA bus seat in Jamaica Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The officer was identified as Brett Boller of Hauppauge, Long Island, and Rep. Nick LaLota sent well wishes to the 22-year-old on Twitter.

The new pictures depict the suspect wearing a black bubble jacket and red hood, with a tattoo on his left hand.
A video obtained by The New York Post shows the moment the gunman first wrestled with Boller on 161st St. and then opened fire.

The 103rd Precinct officer was shot on 161st Street near Jamaica Avenue about 3:25 p.m., minutes after he and his partner had been hailed by an MTA bus driver, police said.
The two officers caught up with the man, but he shot the rookie cop, who had just three months on the job, and fled, Essig said.
Medics rushed the officer to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition Wednesday evening, police said.
Up to $3,500 will be paid upon arrest and indictment and $6,500 will be paid by the NYPD upon arrest and conviction. The reward was increased by $10,000 on Thursday and will be payable by the Cop Shot Foundation upon the arrest and conviction of the shooter.
