Struggle With Queens Subway Thief Sends Woman Flying Down Steps: NYPD

The 26-year-old was trying to get her phone back when she fell down a flight of stairs in a Queens station, authorities said.

QUEENS — A woman was sent flying down a flight of stairs in a Jackson Heights subway station amid a struggle with the man who stole her phone, police said.

The subway thief robbed the woman, 26, on the northbound 7 train platform at the 74 Street subway station on March 4 about 1:30 a.m., the NYPD said.

The 26-year-old tried to retrieve her phone, but instead took a tumble that left her with minor injuries, police said.

Two weeks later, the man appeared with a partner on another 7 train platform at 82nd Street to rob a straphanger of his phone and wallet, police said.

The pair put a 46-year-old man in a headlock during the robbery about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, cops said.

Police released images of one of the robbers, who was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket, dark blue jeans, white sneakers, and a black baseball cap.
