Woodside Couple Indicted After Beating Neighbors With Baseball Bat: DA
Arturo Cuevas and Daisy Barrera were indicted after they attacked Wilson Chabla Lliguicota and his girlfriend last month, prosecutors said.
QUEENS — A couple from Woodside was indicted on Monday after they brutally attacked their neighbors with a knife and a baseball bat last month, prosecutors said.
Arturo Cuevas, 30, and Daisy Barrera, 27, were charged with attempted murder after they attacked Wilson Chabla Lliguicota and his girlfriend Delia Chimbay with a folding knife and bat on March 17 about 3:40 p.m., Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said.
The couple faces up to 25 years in prison each if convicted, Katz said.

Last month, Chabla was coming home and parked his car on 47th Ave. before Cuevas started stabbing him with a folding knife while Barrera hit their neighbor with a baseball bat, the district attorney said.
Cuevas stomped on the 28-year-old and slashed him in the face, and then Chabla's girlfriend came to rescue him, but Barrera started hitting her with the baseball bat, prosecutors said.

Cuevas and Barrera were arrested, and Chabla underwent surgery for severe brain trauma at Elmhurst Hospital.
