'7 Sweet Ducklings, Stuck In A Storm Drain' Saved By Riverhead FD

RIVERHEAD, NY — In a story that touched hearts, ducklings who were stuck in a storm drain in front of the IHOP in Riverhead were rescued recently.

According to the Rivehead Fire Department, a report came in about "wildlife in distress in front of IHOP not that long ago. Seven sweet ducklings were stuck in a storm drain — so we got them all out."

"The little quackers are now safe and sound and ready back to mama," fire officials said.

Speaking with Patch Wednesday, fire officials told Patch: "The ducklings were reunited with their mama."

The news warmed hearts. Next to a photo of the hungry ducklings eating, someone said on Facebook: "They even got IHOP pancakes?! Lucky ducks."
