Pat-Med HS Varsity Cheer Heading To National Championships In Florida

The Raiders recently advanced at the Universal Cheerleaders' Association Empire Regional at Farmingdale State College.

PATCHOGUE, NY — The Patchogue-Medford High School varsity cheer team recently finished fifth in the Universal Cheerleaders' Association Empire Regional at Farmingdale State College, earning them a place to compete in the National High School Cheerleading Championship in February, school officials said.

In the championship, which will take place at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, the Raiders will compete in the Small Division 1 Game Day category.

Coach Tina Trimis said that she and her staff "are incredibly proud of our cheerleaders’ hard work."

“We extend our sincere gratitude to the parents and booster club for their continued dedication to helping our program grow," she said. "

District Director of Physical Education, Health, Athletics, and Health Services Anthony Cracco said that the cheerleaders and coaching staff "worked tirelessly, and it is amazing to see their hard work pay off with another trip to nationals."

“They make our district community proud every day, and we cannot wait to see them shine on the national stage," he added.
