Cops Arrest 3 Teens After Reported Downtown Robbery

According to police, a man was robbed of a bag of food while walking near downtown early Monday morning.

A trio of teens was arrested early Monday morning after a man told police he was jumped by them, before they robbed him of a bag of food.

The 36-year-old reported victim was not injured in the incident, save for a few minor scrapes, according to police. Reports stated that the man called police after he said he was jumped and the teens were picked up shortly after.

He reportedly identified them, and all three were arrested on class C felony charges of robbery in the second degree.

The teens arrested were: Tasheem Carter, 17, of Middle Island; Delando Henderson, 16, of Riverhead; and Roderick Henderson, 18, of Mastic.

While the victim is a Hispanic male, and the three teens are black, Riverhead detectives said that the incident is not considered racially motivated at the moment. No weapons were used in the incident, police said.
