Cops: Electric Piano Stolen From Riverside Church

Also, a fight breaks out at Rancho Latino in Flanders, injuring one man.

The following incidents were reported by the Town of Southampton Police Department for the week of Dec. 13.

Riverside

  • A 46-year-old Manorville man said he fell victim to a thief who rummaged through his vehicle while he was parked at the Valero gas station in Riverside on Jan. 9. According to police the man went to police headquarters around 12:20 p.m. to report that a man had stolen a Suffolk Federal Credit Union checkbook, a veterans ID card and a Samsung Brightside cellphone before fleeing in another car. Police have a description of the man and the vehicle, but no arrests have been made.
  • Someone broke into the Goodwill AME Zion Church on Route 24 and stole a musical instrument sometime between Jan. 8 and Jan. 10. According to police, they received a call from a representative of the church at around 7:45 p.m. on Jan. 10 after the break-in was discovered. Someone made off with the church’s Roland-Juno keyboard, valued at around $600.

  • Police responded to a fight at the Rancho Latino bar on Flanders Road on Jan. 11. Police received a call about the dispute at around 9:30 p.m. from one of the victims, who said he suffered bruising to his neck and a cut to his nose. Police did not have information about the cause of the fight and said the victim was intoxicated at the time. No arrests have been made.
  • Someone slashed a man’s tires while it was parked in the driveway of a residence on Albany Avenue on Jan. 9. Police received a 911 call at around 8:45 a.m. from the 32-year-old victim who said all four tires were cut on his 2002 Toyota Highlander sometime during the previous night. The damage on the vehicle totaled $600.
