"Certified as an EMT in 2008, Randy Hoffman served with nearly every EMS agency across the South Fork, including the Amagansett Fire Department, East Hampton Village Ambulance Association, Springs Fire Department, Southampton Volunteer Ambulance, Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance, Bridgehampton Fire Department, and Montauk Fire Department. Over the course of his career, Randy responded to thousands of emergency calls and was recognized by REMSCO for saving at least two lives," SBSH said.
His courage extended beyond his years of service, officials said. After surviving a spinal injury that left him a quadriplegic following routine surgery, he faced recovery with determination and optimism.

A plaque, donated by the Bridgehampton EMS, with Hoffman's name has been installed outside the EMT Room at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, as a lasting tribute to his life and service.
"The dedication of the EMT Room ensures that Randy’s contributions and commitment to helping others will continue to inspire both current and future generations of emergency responders," said Darin Wiggin, MD. "We are honored to recognize his service with this naming plaque as a permanent tribute to his life, leadership, and service to the community."
