Hallockville Country Fair Celebrates 50 Years Of Museum Farm; Fun Continues Sunday

RIVERHEAD, NY — A beloved tradition is back as the Hallockville Country Fair celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Hallockville Museum Farm with special attractions and fun.

The event features 50 percent off admission Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to noon.; the event continues until 4 p.m. and takes place at Hallockville Museum Farm, located at 6038 Sound Avenue in Riverhead.

The fun also includes a concert by the No Doubt World Famous Monday Night Band on Sunday at 1 p.m. (weather permitting), an artistic hand-blown glass pumpkin patch, historic cooking demonstrations, a horse-mounted drill team, a dog that paints, and the popular mix of family-friendly farm activities, historical tours and, folk arts and skills demonstrations, contemporary music, and food trucks presented on the adjoining grounds of Hallockville Museum Farm and the Long Island Antique Power Association on Sound Avenue.

All day events include the hand-blown glass pumpkin patch, wagon rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, a kiddie train, children's activities, historic cooking, bread baking, folk arts, a blacksmith demo, a sawmill demo, bake sale, live music, craft vendors and food trucks.

10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Historic tours

11 a.m.: Children's tug of war

11 a.m.: Children's book reading with Yvonne Dagger

11 am.: Tea-making demonstration

12 p.m.: Picasso the painting dog

12 p.m.: Potato sack races

Noon to 3 p.m.: Beekeeping demonstration

1 p.m.: Children's tug of war

1 p.m. Concert: No Doubt World Famous Monday Night Band

1:30 p.m.: Tractor pull at LIAPA

2 p.m.: Potato sack races

2 p.m.: Picasso the painting dog

3 p.m.: Children's book reading with Yvonne Dagger

3 p.m.: Tractor pull at LIAPA till 5:30 p.m.

Admission costs $12 for ages 12 and older; $10 for seniors, veterans and active military members; $8 for children ages 5 to 12; and children ages 1 to 4 are free. To thank the community and celebrate the 50th anniversary admission to the Country Fair will be half-price on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

According to its website, the mission of the Hallockville Museum Farm is to "take Long Island back to its family farming roots and explore their relevance today."
