LI Man Dies After Slamming Into Retaining Wall In Parking Lot: PD

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Glenn Cove man died Thursday afternoon after slamming into a retaining wall in a rear parking lot in Riverhead, police said.

According to Riverhead police, the incident took place at about 2:45 p.m. in the back parking lot of a business on Old Country Road.

Patrol officers found a 2021 Black Mini Cooper that had struck a retaining wall at a high rate of speed, police said.

Brandon Roehrig, 41, was found deceased at the scene, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective division responded for a further investigation; at this time, the accident appears to be non-criminal in nature, police said.
