LI Woman Pleading For Help To Find Her Grown Son: Police

Her son, who is schizophrenic, has not been seen since December and lives in the Bronx, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead woman is pleading for help to find her grown son, who has been missing since December, police said.

According to Riverhead Town police, on January 9, Judith Leavitt reported her 43-year-old son Theodore A. Rourke, of the Bronx, missing, police said.

Leavitt reported that her last contact with her son was in mid-December, police said.

Leavitt described Rourke as a white male, 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 140 lbs., with balding brown hair, police said.

Rourke was last seen in the area of 2700 Marion Avenue in the Bronx in mid-to-late December, police said.

Rourke has no ties to Long Island and has resided in the Bronx for about the last seven years, police said. Although no foul play is suspected, Rourke is diagnosed with schizophrenia, police said.
