Man Caught With Loaded Handgun In Riverhead: Police

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man was arrested in Riverhead Thursday night after he was found in possession of a loaded handgun, police said.

According to Riverhead Town police, at about 7:45 p.m., confidential information was received involving a resident of Roanoke Avenue who was in possession of a loaded handgun.

The Riverhead Police Department's detective squad conducted an investigation, which led to the execution of a search warrant at the address, police said.

A loaded handgun was recovered and Carmine Testa, Jr, 21, originally from the Bronx, was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony; and criminal possession of a firearm, a felony, police said.

He was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
