Jodi Giglio Wins NY 2nd Assembly District Race

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Voters headed to the polls on Tuesday to decide the winner of the NYS Assembly District 2 race between incumbent Jodi Giglio (R) and challenger Tricia Chiaramonte (D)— and Giglio emerged the winner.

According to unofficial results by the Suffolk County Board of Elections, Giglio took the lead by a wide margin: With all districts having reported, Giglio had 64.89 percent, or 45,280 votes; Chiaramonte had 35.07 percent and24,474 votes.

Speaking with Patch after the vote, Giglio said: "I am so thankful for the residents of the 2nd Assembly District for placing their trust in me to be their voice in Albany. Know that I will continue listening to your needs and be your strong voice for a safer, more affordable life here on Long Island."
