Here are the top stories today in Riverhead:

1. Riverhead Police want to make sure, you and your child are safe while riding in a vehicle. Police will conduct a zero-tolerance enforcement check for seat belts and child restraint requirements from May 23 through June 5. (RiverheadLOCAL)
2. Riverhead Town officials are considering big increases in fines for people who litter or graffiti buildings. (Subscription: Riverhead News Review)
3. The police report for Riverhead in April shows that police made 90 arrests. Out of the 90 arrests, 59 people were arraigned for their crimes during the same month. (RiverheadLOCAL)
4. The Town of Riverhead refused to issue a tent permit to the Dimon Estate restaurant in Jamesport, as a result, the restaurant canceled all weddings it had booked for 2022. Neighbors had complained about noise due to the restaurant holding events outside on the lawn. (RiverheadLOCAL)
