3. At about 8:15 p.m. Sunday, a 911 call reported a fire at the Indian Island county golf course damaging the golf cart storage building and the golf carts stored within the building. Most of the golf carts inside were destroyed, even though the first arriving units made a quick stop of the fire. (RiverheadLOCAL)
4. This year, the Riverhead Board of Education has two open seats and three candidates running for them. Two candidates are seeking reelection, incumbents Laurie Downs of Riverhead and Matthew Wallace of Calverton. A new-comer, Andrew Nadeau of Calverton is running for the first time.
