Here are the top stories in Riverhead today:
- Police are seeking the public's help in locating Reymond Rodrigues, who left Little Flower Children's Services in Wading River on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in an Uber; no foul play is suspected, police said. Rodrigues is 16, Hispanic, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with brown eyes and long brown hair, according to Riverhead Town police. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and Nike sneakers. - This week, the Long Island Regional Planning Council may declare a $2.8 billion redevelopment proposal in Ronkonkoma. So far, the project is supported by both Suffolk County and Islip Town leaders. (Subscription: Newsday)
- Ryan Walker, 37, was killed and Robert Kehlenbeck, 46, was seriously injured when a vehicle hit them while they were working on a pickup truck parked outside of Walker’s home. The incident happened on Express Drive South Wednesday around 5:29 p.m., in Holtsville, Suffolk police said. After the collision, the vehicle fled eastbound on Express Drive South, police said. Anyone with information about the crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6553. (Daily Voice)
- The Hallockville Museum Farm Fleece & Fiber Festival is back May 21-22, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check out an "immersive fiber arts and crafts experience — from sheep to sweater." Hallockville Museum Farm is located at 6038 Sound Ave. in Riverhead. Tickets are $10 for persons aged 13 and older, children 12 and younger are free. The festival will be held rain or shine!
