  1. For Father's Day weekend, Splish Splash Water Park hosted a belly flop contest. Anton Younes, of Riverhead, took the top spot this year, winning a season pass and tickets to a Long Island Ducks game! (News 12 Brooklyn)
  2. Riverhead Police are investigating gunshots that were fired at a home on Wilson Avenue in two separate incidents this week, on Saturday morning and on Wednesday, striking and damaging the house and a vehicle, police said. (Patch)
  3. On Saturday afternoon, Stephen Napolitano, 45, of Mount Sinai, was seriously injured when he struck a 2013 Ford truck that was stopped in eastbound traffic about 1,100 feet west of Wireless Road in South Setauket at 2:24 p.m. Napolitano, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment.   4. An inclusive new book, “Fire Island: A Century in the Life of an American Paradise” by British author Jack Parlett, advocates the "queer side of Fire Island by telling the history of the holiday resort through the eyes of renowned authors." (New York Daily News)
