YONKERS, NY — Justice has been served in the case of a Connecticut man who brutalized his ex-girlfriend and robbed a bystander who tried to intercede.

Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace said that a Connecticut man was sentenced on Thursday for an August 2023 incident where he repeatedly attacked his ex-girlfriend, at one point causing her to lose consciousness, and then robbed a good Samaritan who tried to help her.

Paul Price, 41, of Torrington, Connecticut, pleaded guilty last month to second degree assault and second degree robbery. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison on the robbery charge and seven years in prison on the assault charge, to run concurrently with the robbery charge.

"This merciless assault against a former partner highlights the everyday danger of domestic violence," Cacace said. "Yesterday's sentence is a sobering reminder that this type of violence can affect anyone, regardless of circumstance. Anyone experiencing violence from a current or former partner should reach out to my office or their local police department for assistance. We are committed to protecting the safety and privacy of domestic violence survivors."

According to court documents, in August 2023, Price went to his ex-girlfriend's Yonkers workplace and told her to get into her car. During the ride to her apartment, he struck her and then pulled her out of the car by her hair and slammed her onto the concrete. In her apartment, he continued to strike her repeatedly and then choked her until she was unconscious.

The victim eventually managed to escape to a nearby mechanic. Price followed her there and assaulted and robbed a good Samaritan who tried to help her.
