Destroy Your Documents: Mobile Shredder Comes to Hastings Saturday

Westchester County's mobile shredder will be making a stop at Hastings' Zissner Avenue lot on Saturday, June 1.

The shredder, introduced in 2006, serves as a vessel for residents to safely destroy personal documents and avoiding risking identity theft.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, residents can bring up to four file-size boxes (remove all large binder clips and covers, but stapes are OK) to be shredded into 1" x 1" strips for recycling at 134 Southside Ave.

"Papers from businesses, institutions or commercial enterprises are not acceptable and will be rejected, as will any junk mail or newspapers," the county's website reads.

Can't make it this weekend? Next week, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the shredder will be at Greenburgh Town Hall (177 Hillside Ave.).
