Dobbs Ferry College Student to be Honored at 'In The Company of Women' Luncheon
Stephanie Ann Rodriguez will be recognized at the annual luncheon this Friday, May 10.

Stephanie Ann Rodriguez, a junior at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, as been invited to the YWCA's fifth annual "In The Company of Women" luncheon on Friday when she will be honored for her accomplishments along with three other young women.
Rodriguez was nominated and selected for the honor because of her peer recognition, academic excellence and leadership, and volunteer and community service.
The young woman plans to pursue a graduate degree in childhood education. She is currently studying behavioral science, while performing strong academically. She is president of TBTL, a leadership group on campus that focuses on peer mentoring.

According to her nominating letter, she is "outgoing, warm and friendly and well liked by all who have the pleasure of interacting with her." The woman volunteers with lunch buddies, where she has lunch with local elementary students to foster connection and help with any issues and concerns they have.
"Stephanie is a wonderful example of young woman of Latina heritage who is making a huge difference to those around her, through her leadership, accomplishments, and community services," her nominating letter said.

Rodriguez will be recognized at the annual luncheon, which will be held on Friday, May 10 at 11 a.m. at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook.
The YWCA's "In The Company of Women" luncheon is expected to attract nearly 600 people. Sheryl WuDunn, the first Asian-American to win a Pulitzer Prize, business executive, entrepreneur and best selling-author will be the keynote speaker at the event.
The non-profit organization's mission, according to a statement, is to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
