An investigation by the Hastings Police Youth/Detective Division has led to the arrest of a 14-year-old juvenile.
The young teen was arrested on June 12 at approximately 4:30 p.m. in connection with a May 16 incident.
On that date, police received a report from a local parent who said her 8-year-old child was the victim of a crime at the James Harmon Community Center.
The parent told police the 14-year-old took a large kitchen knife and charged her 8-year-old at the center. The child then ran into another room to ask a parent for help.
The 14-year-old has been charged with misdemeanor Menacing in the Second Degree. On June 12 he was processed and released to his mother with a June 20 Family Court date in Yonkers.
