Jewelry, Laptop Stolen From Farragut Avenue Home

A 33-year-old Hastings-on-Hudson woman arrived home around 4 p.m. on March 19 to find her front door open and her home burglarized.

The Farragut Avenue home appeared to have been entered through an unlocked rear window between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. An upstairs bedroom was found ransacked with miscellaneous jewelry and a laptop computer missing.

Hastings-on-Hudson Police were conducting burglary detail later that night knocking on people’s doors to see if they had seen anything suspicious. During the crime prevention effort, police said they found about three homes whose doors were left open while the residents were not home.

Police are urging residents to keep their homes secure—with door and windows locked and security alarm systems on—and to immediately report and suspicious activity in the area.
