Man Scammed Out of $425 Apartment Down Payment
The 20-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident got a key that didn't work in exchange for the payment.

A 20-year-old Dobbs Ferry man was given a fake key to a Main Street apartment in Dobbs Ferry after paying $425 as a down payment on the apartment.
According to police, the 20-year-old met a man at his current home to discuss the apartment and paid the man in exchange for the key.

The key did not work in the apartment door and the Lincoln Avenue resident could not reach the man after that that. The matter is still under investigation.
