Public Hearing on Irvington Proposed Sign, Awning Regulations

Irvington residents, businesses and landlords will have their chance to tell Village officials how the new “sign code” will affect them if it is approved.

“Signage, particularly in the Business District, is a very complex topic and there have been numerous work sessions over the past several years,” said Mayor Brian Smith, in his most recent newsletter. “However, I think we have come up with a fair law that addresses the need for regulation without placing undue burdens on our business owners.”

The Irvington Village Board of Trustees has been considering creating uniform regulations for signs and awnings in the village, especially in the business district for almost three years.

A public hearing on the proposed sign code will be held at village hall, 85 Main St., on Monday, March 18 at 7 p.m.
