Voter's Guide: Dobbs Ferry, Hastings, Irvington Go To Polls Tuesday

Voters in the Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson and Irvington districts will decide whether to approve their 2023-24 school budgets Tuesday.

RIVERTOWNS, NY — Voters in the Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson and Irvington school districts will be going to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to approve their proposed 2023-24 school budgets.

In the Dobbs Ferry district, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Dobbs Ferry High School gymnasium, 505 Broadway.

The proposed spending package is $55.2 million, which is up 7.45 percent over the current budget.

The tax levy increase is 3.59 percent, which is under the state tax cap.

There are three candidates running for two, three-year seats: Rebecca Hershberg, Pavithra Nagarajan and Antonio Treglia.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The information about Dobb's Ferry's tax levy increase was changed due to an additional $591,118 in state building aid that was announced after the district's Budget Highlights Newsletter was published. The tax levy increase was lowered from 5.02 percent to 3.59 percent.


In the Hastings-on-Hudson school district, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hastings High School Cochran Gym, One Mount Hope Boulevard.

The proposed spending package is $57.6 million, which is up 4.19 percent over the current budget.

The tax levy increase is 2.83 percent, which is under the state tax cap.

There are four candidates running for two, three-year seats: incumbent Jeremy Galland, Kai MacMahon, Theresa McCaffrey and Jodie Meyer.


In the Irvington school district, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Main Street School Gym, 101 Main St.

The proposed spending package is $73 million, which is up 6.72 percent over the current budget.

The tax levy increase is 3.41 percent, which is under the state tax cap.

There are three candidates running for three, three-year seats: incumbent Brian Friedman, Dympna Kenny and incumbent Jayne Wissner.
