Shelter-In-Place Order Lifted After Hazmat Emergency Contained
Officials said there were no injuries, and no impact to the water supply resulting from the spill at the Hillview Reservoir.

YONKERS, NY — Yonkers police have rescinded a shelter-in-place order that was put in place following a hazmat response in the Hillview Reservoir area.
"The shelter in place has been lifted," the Yonkers Police Department said in an emergency alert update Friday afternoon. "Motorists are asked to continue avoiding the area as intermittent road closures remain in place in the area of Kimball Avenue and Hillview Avenue while hazmat crews continue to work. There were no injuries to the public or DEP staff, and no impact to the water supply."
Initial media reports indicate that a truck has spilled an unknown, potentially hazardous substance in the area.
