City Of Rochester: Community Meeting On Draft Zoning Map
"I invite the entire community to help us refine how our zoning map can best align with our Comprehensive Plan".

February 8, 2022
Mayor Malik D. Evans is inviting the community for input on the City’s draft Zoning Map and Use Table at a series of public meetings beginning this week. The meetings are the next step in a multi-phased, Zoning Alignment Plan (ZAP) process the City is undertaking to comprehensively update its Zoning Code. The Code, last updated in 2003, contains the regulations for the use of land and buildings. The Zoning Map and Use Table visually lay out zoning districts across the city, indicating where different land uses are allowed, and required design standards.

“I am very excited about the prospect of continuing our work with residents to update the City’s Zoning Code to reflect the community’s vision established in the award-winning Rochester 2034 Comprehensive Plan two years ago,” said Mayor Evans. “Today, we are seeing those planning efforts begin to bear fruit and I invite the entire community to help us refine how our zoning map can best align with our Comprehensive Plan.”
The creation of the Comprehensive Plan involved substantial community engagement over three years, and serves as the foundation for revising the Zoning Code and Map.
