Closures For Juneteenth This Week In Rockville Centre
The federal holiday commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S.
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — Thursday is Juneteenth, a federal holiday in the U.S., and in Rockville Centre most village offices will be closed.
Any regularly scheduled sanitation pickup on Thursday will be moved to Friday, with typical Friday pickup shifted to Saturday.
Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021 after Congress enacted and President Biden signed it into law. It commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S.
