County Legislature Candidate, 29, Missing Since Last Week: Police

BALDWIN, NY — A Democratic candidate for the Nassau County Legislature has been missing since last week, police said.

According to Nassau police, Petros Krommidas, 29, was last seen Wednesday evening in Baldwin. He was reported missing on Thursday, police said.

Krommidas is 6' 2" tall and 230 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be in the Long Beach area, police said.

"We are heartbroken over the disappearance of Petros Krommidas. Petros is a bright, driven young man who has been a strong voice for Democratic values. He is well respected by the community and represents the very best of our next generation of leaders. We are keeping Petros and his family in our prayers and remain hopeful for his safe return," Eleni-Lemonia Krommidas posted Sunday night to Facebook.

Krommidas is seeking election in the Legislature's 4th District.
